It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jared Owen, a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished friend, and highly respected member of our medical community. Jared’s presence was a constant source of strength, compassion, and professionalism. His loss leaves a deep void in the lives of his family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of working beside him.
Jared was known throughout our hospital teams as a steady, trusted, and uplifting presence. He supported our staff through countless critical moments, approaching every situation with calm, clarity, and genuine care. His dedication to patient welfare, his willingness to teach, and his ability to bring comfort to others—both patients and coworkers—made him an invaluable member of our community. Many of us remember Jared not just for his skill, but for his kindness, patience, and the sincere respect he showed to everyone he encountered.
As we grieve alongside the Owen family, many have asked how they can support his loved ones during this unimaginably difficult time. In response, several efforts have been organized to help provide comfort and stability in the weeks ahead. A meal train has been created to assist Jared’s wife and their two young children as they navigate the early stages of grief and adjustment. Additional sign-up dates will be made available as needed.
For those wishing to offer financial assistance, a GoFundMe has been established to support the family’s immediate needs and help ensure ongoing stability as they move through this heartbreaking transition. Every contribution—no matter the size—is received with deep gratitude.
We are also gathering toys and comfort items for Jared’s children:
- Cooper (9): Pokémon, Fortnite, Minecraft, Nintendo Switch accessories, soccer or baseball items
- Denver (2): Moana, princess toys, baby dolls
Additional comfort items such as children’s grief books, stuffed animals, sensory toys, blankets, and soothing gifts are welcome. Please text Alo (361-271-7999) to arrange a drop-off time. Cards and brief, optional prayers for the family are also warmly welcomed during drop-off.
Anyone seeking grief resources, counseling options, or support contacts is encouraged to reach out. Details regarding upcoming memorial services in both BCS and White Oak will be shared as soon as they are available.
Jared Owen will be deeply missed, remembered always for his compassion, dedication, and unwavering love for his family. May his memory continue to guide and inspire us all.
