Marco’s passing last week has left a profound sense of loss for all who knew him—family, friends, colleagues, classmates, and mentors who admired his character, determination, and compassionate spirit. During this difficult time, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones and hope they find comfort in the support of a community that shares in their grief and honors Marco’s memory.
Marco was a proud graduate of Florida State University, where he studied Political Science and Criminology. Throughout his academic journey, he distinguished himself through intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, and an unwavering commitment to public service. He approached every course, project, and opportunity with a thoughtful and purposeful mindset. Professors and peers alike recall him as a student who listened carefully, asked meaningful questions, and engaged deeply with issues that mattered to him. His academic achievements reflected not only talent, but a genuine desire to better understand and contribute to the world around him.
Most recently, Marco served as an investigative intern at the Law Offices of the Public Defender – 2nd Judicial Circuit of Florida. In this role, he demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and a strong commitment to justice. His colleagues remember him as reliable, insightful, and eager to support the team. Marco had aspirations of attending law school, and those who knew him were confident he would succeed as a future advocate—one shaped by empathy, humility, and a sense of responsibility to his community.
The Florida State University community continues to feel the weight of this tremendous loss. Faculty, staff, and students are reflecting on Marco’s warmth, generosity, and the positive influence he had on everyone around him. His dedication to learning, his desire to serve others, and his ability to inspire those who worked alongside him leave a lasting legacy.
